"Sessa"

this painting is inspired by sessa, a small village in nubian sudan, looking out across the nile toward delgo. the boats move back and forth carrying people, and everyone waits along the riverbank waving, hoping the next one will bring them across. it's such a simple everyday moment, but it holds so much life and connection.

this is my father's home village, where he grew up, and painting it feels like holding a piece of family memory. the nile isn't just water here, it's a lifeline that brings people together and shapes the rhythm of daily life. there's something so comforting about the way the community gathers, waits, and moves together, surrounded by the quiet beauty of nubian sudan.
